Alternoil GmbH is a pioneer in the transformation process for clean heavy duty transport and is actively working to establish the alternative fuels LNG and BioLNG throughout Germany. Alternoil relies on its existing filling station infrastructure and broad acceptance of fuel cards and already offers the climate-friendly natural gas LNG (liquefied natural gas) at its filling stations.

The self-service filling station operator also plans to provide the renewable fuel BioLNG from biological waste processes as early as the 3rd quarter of this year. The biomethane is certified according to the European standard ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification).

The company operates LNG XL stations and in October 2019 commissioned what was then Europe's largest LNG filling station. By the end of the year, the company plans to open two more LNG stations in XL format in Fulda (A7) and in Hamburg at Burchardkai/Waltershof port.

In addition, the company will open 14 more LNG XS stations by the end of the year in Aachen, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Duisburg, Ettenheim, Greding, Hockenheim, Knüllwald, Cologne, Leipzig, Lübeck, Magdeburg, Oldenburg and Oldenburg Land. Depending on project status and demand, the location and timing of the opening may still vary.
